New Downloads at RoNH

We got a couple of new downloads to report on at Rise of Nations Heaven this week. First we have a new scenario by chaz456 call "Island Conquest". On this Singleplayer/Multiplayer Map. You can be the British, the Greeks, the Germans, the French or the Spainish. Be one of those nations in the gunpowder age to the modern age with your own island under your control. Next we have comojerm that summarizes the nation replacement mods at Rise of Nations Heaven in a nice excel file format. Now you can find the nation mods that much easier and maybe combine them in new ways no one else has done previously.

Apolyton Presents Paul Stephanouk - Part 2

Apolyton Civ site continues with their series, in the second of five parts. During ApolyCon `06 held in Timonium, Maryland this past July, Big Huge Games (BHG) designer Paul Stephanouk gave a presentation to attendees on the development of the company`s premiere title, Rise of Nations, which offered a glimpse into BHG` approach to game in general.

Apolyton Presents Paul Stephanouk

Reflecting on Rise of Nations during ApolyCon `06 held in Timonium, Maryland this past July, Big Huge Games (BHG) designer Paul Stephanouk gave a presentation to attendees on the development of the company`s premiere title, Rise of Nations, which offered a glipse into BHG` approach to game in general.

In the first of five parts in streaming audio released on Monday at Apolyton Civ site, Stephanouk introduces himself as Rise of Nations`s Producer with an interest and love of gaming that long predates his employment in the industry. On the BHG approach to game design, he explains their layer approach highlighted by four primary tiers: art (visuals), designers (architecture), programming (code) and production (administration). He acknowledges the influences Alpha Centauri, the Civilization series and boardgames had on Rise of Nations`s evolution, and notes how within three weeks of signing the game`s contract with publisher Microsoft Game Studios in mid-2000 the company had a basic but playable build of the game was in place.

New Scenarios at RoNH

We also have a couple of scenarios to report on. First we have chaz456 who offers, a "Gulf War" scenario. This is a single-player map in which you command a coalition of US and UK forces attempting to capture Baghdad. To other is from checo_SC who revises a multiplayer scenario to its 3rd incarnation, "Central America 2008". This is his first scenario and its about a war in central and part of south america this war is between socialist and capitalist each nations.

New Game Mods at RoNH

First we have a "Light Bomber" from master_general. This mod provides every nation with the light bomber, a fast, cheap, powerful aircraft, that provides bombing capability in the industrial age. Next master_general continues with "leopard skin bomb vessel". This mod changes the bomb vessel to a land walking leopard skinned ship. Finally, chaz456 also contributes with a mod pack which includes scenarios with his Civil War Mod Pack.

New Scenarios and Mods at RoNH

This week we have a bunch of mods and a new multiplayer scenario to report on. First up is "Evolution Ver 6". This scenario is for 2 to 4 players squaring off in an arena by DAspitfire007, it is based on the Absolute Madness 6 scenario.

On the mods front. We have "Camo Assault Marine" by master_general. This mod changes the assault marines. Next master_general makses a script to remove missle silos from the game, you can grab that from this link. He contines his modding throw down with a "Red Coat skin" mod. This is a mod to change the british red coats for the Napoleonic era. Next he creates a mod called "Little Gunpowder Mod", its a quick rough draft of a mod that makes troops in the gunpowder age get killed with one shot. If that wasn't enough, he also made a joke mod that replaces the Terra Cotta wonder with a Ronald MacDonald statue with a David Hasselholf face! You can check that mod out at this link.

Next we have KamikazeSeagull with "Rise of Romans" mod. This is a mod that combines the Alpini Mod, made by lightInfa, and the Ballista mod made by me. Finally he finishes us off with a "Eastern Orthodox Church" mod. This just reskins the european church to look eastern orthodox with the onion domes.
