What are the rules concerning pausing the game in multiplayer? I've found that pausing or reducing the speed against the computer is an excellent strategy, but I'm sure it can't be the same when you're playing against a human.
And also, I'm wondering: can the computer do 4 things at the same time? I mean, sending an army to attack you, selecting all cities at once and creating civilians, keep creating troops and researching Library technology. Is the computer able to perform all these tasks simultaneously?

There are rules you can set in multiplayer for how long players are allowed to pause for before resuming. I assume the AI can only do one thing at a time, for if you look at a replay from their perspective, the camera moves around as a human's would... as I recall, anyway.
