I really, really like how in singleplayer you can control multiple nations. I used to play around with it a lot a couple of years ago, because you can make all sorts of own scenarios, completely control them, and make up situations and everything in order to roleplay a war/diplomacy thing.

However, recently I tried playing the game with a friend, and I was very sad to see there was no way to control multiple nations in multiplayer. We wanted to do a diplomacy thing where we both control 2 countries and just let them do stuff, but sadly we couldn't.

Is there any way whatsoever to enable putting yourself on multiple slots like in singleplayer?

(I also posted this in the mod section, but this thing can both be achieved with mods and with scenarios, I think! For example you can already put multiple nations on Player-controlled in the scenario editor, which results in the same effect as starting up a skirmish and setting yourself on multiple slots. Sorry if I wasn't actually allowed to make this post in multiple sections.)
