Do they come with the ability to bomb/saboteur or is that an upgrade and if so when is it available?
How much damage does each bomb/saboteur do? And is does that amount differ by target type? For example (as someone suggested in a post) do they do more damage vs. wonders?
Does it take 1 or 2 or 3 bombs/sabotuers to take out a library?
How many does it take when the library is in a large city (vs. small city)?
Anyone have any luck doing this sort of thing?
If this is a good strategy (someone suggested coupling 4-5 commandoes with a general and doing forced march strikes), what is the defense? Are towers a good defense? (and unrelatedly does a tower behave differently if it has a unit garrisoned in it?)

for me best deffence is offence.. haev some cannons shoot, and when enemies get close send in ya infrantry and javalineers.. and let the horsies get round to the archers who always stand behind..
sounds hard, but the pauze button is a life saviour.
---- anyway, your scouts are commando's, believe it or not.. in later ages (forgot which one, I think its enlightement) you can upgrade them.. and they automatically get the sabotage and snipers Ability
and why would ya wanna take out a library??

Some stuff from the strat guide.
Commandos (part of the Scout line, and the first one with sabotage ability) become available in Enlightenment as kepa said. Sabotage does 50% damage OR 200hp damage, whichever is GREATER. In Modern age they upgrade to Special Forces which do 50% or 400hp dmg. And elite Special Forces, in Info Age, do 50% or 800hp.
Example, a library has base 1200hp (without temple and/or large city factored in). The first sabotage would do 600 dmg (50%), the second would do 300dmg (50% again), the third and fourth sabotage would do 200 dmg each, destroying the bldg on the fourth Sabotage. This is in Enlightenment Age.
The Scout line costs 40 metal,40 wealth in every age. And the cost increases by 10 metal and 10 wealth with each one.

Why take out a library? Have you ever tried to advance an age without one? It is pretty funny when someone is researching one of the end game techs with only one library. I use a cruise missle and boom, no more research. I did this to my wife the last week. Talk about mad! She still won't play me.

Another fun fact about the commando (scout line). Once they gain the sniping ability (Enlightenment era) they become a near necessity to any army. You should already have them to take out enemy spies, but once they snipe they're that much more important.
If you're attacking and you lose your siege use ground troops as fodder (draw fire) and send the commandos in to detonate the building. As for sniping, use them to take out enemy siege supply wagons, and generals. Technically they don't snipe siege and wagons, so send 2 or so after each one.
And about playing the wife/gf...never a good idea. Any situation where she can get mad at you for killing something of hers is one that you want to avoid.

I ussually have 2 of each sort of building when commando's come along..
I find having 1 library only suited for stupid AI (well not stupid, since toughest AI makes me swet.. but hey)
