Colossus, Versailles and Statue of Liberty are the only wonders I try really hard to build. Versailles may be just as good as Colosses because you can use your units more (they are not garrisoned for healing), even if it does come so much later.

I find myself building the collosus the most out of all the wonders, and I usualy make a point to build it. I love the extra +50 pop for latter in the game, plus the commerce bonus after that I dont go for wonders much anymore unless it realy fits into my situation because online is getting more competative.

I certainly don't think the Terra Cotta Army is useless. It gives you a great backup army and you'll probably build very little light infantry again, which saves a lot of resources. If he hits his pop cap because of the Terra Cotta Army he either has too many citizens or he is playing a very long game without ever attacking.

In patch 3, there is a hotkey to select all injured units.

It all depends on nation. I love the Bantu to death(double pop lim and +25% max pop limit) and Colossus is worthless with that. Terra Cotta Army can be devastating with them. On a side note, Bantu+Peacocks+Colossus can be devastating, maybe with a Supercollider for AI. It gives you 250+50+10%of 300,which is 30, and you get 330.

Wonders are there as a victory condition (which I don't like) or to use strategically.
The pyramids do rock and any wonder that increases commerce that coincides with your strat. In end game once you have enough oil and refineries the real shortage for military becomes metal. Temple of Tikal will fix this.
What sort of army do you want to build? What resources do you need, is there a wonder to help this goal, can you build it in time to use it's benefits? All things to consider when building wonders because if your opponent is your match you SHOULDN'T be building them unless they have strategic purpose as they cost resources you could put into troops or economy that your opponent will have when you don't.
Another thing to consider with wonders is the combination of wonders and rare resouces. This gets really complex as you have different rares each game that have different cause/effect with differnt civs.
Say you have gems (border push) and you are russian or roman then building the collosseum would make your borders near impossibly strong. Add Dye (cheap civics) and you're on their doorstep!
And say you find a combo of rares that provide cheap library research. Do you build a pyramid then cos instead you can boom like crazy and pick which wonder you really need, as each wonder ramps the cost of the next.

Funny how so many people knock The Cheap Army. Lets face it we are all probably going to produce LI. It is also reletavily cheap for what it provides especially if you look at the cost of later LI. If TCA is making you bump the cap you either dont have enough military researched are have too many troops sword polishing.

I find it's all relative to the race, and your strategy, if I boom, I prefer to use a Colloseum, and use the Kremlin later. Then I use aircraft flanking runs on any supply wagons. Or if I dont have aircraft, I use cavalry, or a general.
