I'm not sure if any one else has ever had this problem, but the buildings stay the same for any civilization I play until I reach the gunpowder age. I've played editions of RON where the classical era and medieval era architecture comes through, it makes the game so much better during those ages. It almost makes the game unplayable for me! Is this a graphics bug or what is going on? Thanks.

I recall having this problem, also if you use certain cheats it may cause the same affect.
If you have the official disc copy of the game, try patching the game if it isn't patched, or do a clean reinstall.

I recall having the problem around when the game first was released and fixing it after patching/reinstall.
The other time I was experimenting with cheat codes to change the ages of different ai players and it created some interesting and strange situations - medieval buildings and units in modern era, etc.
I do remember the fort graphics thing, it can be confusing.

tarmo_flake, can you tell file's name for unused Gotha bomber? I could place it into the TCRF article for unused graphics.

@tarmo_flake yes I'm sure it's not the Mandela effect, not only have other people commented here, but also I remember when I at first noticed this was an issue, then it solved itself (must have been a patch or update) then unsolved itself again, and at each stage I was very conscious of the bug in architecture at each age because much of the eras I like to specifically play are ancient to medieval or gunpowder; the buildings look beautiful and appropriate in classical and medieval when they do change from ancient (makes much more sense too, how can ancient man's grass huts be left unchanging when you expect to see the medieval churches and castles of the era). I did re-install over steam, but still not getting any improvements. Did steam keep the bugged version? how can this be fixed??
