Hey Wadis10,
I didn't get any answer from you.
I'm hoping you join the team, really!
This mod is something completly new where only few things are coming from Age of Tanks and it will not be complete without your support.

Edited: to all team: here is the list of countries with related tribes:

Tribes are uploaded in syncplicity under UPLOAD\TRIBES\.

Hey Dark Rebel,
we are working on a table of units still.
Meanwhile I'm doing some basic job working on citizens and buildings.
Can you help me in it skinning citizens or creating new buildings??

To Coldwar Warrior: Are you still seeking nice WW2 drawings?
here a nice website:

Recruitment Office:

Nikox: Thanks nikox but i think i got enough!
I'm sorry i could not get to the unit list. The etendard model is from this site, look up super entendard in downloads, and you'll find it there. Nice building btw, is it supposed to be a recruitment center?

Army of One: Thanks! There's only three soldier models i could use, and they're from the coldwar mod. Besides the soviet piece, CTW_army_USSR_attack.bh3 and CTW_army_USSR_stand.bh3 (which i took directly from the cold war one) they all use the American piece, CTW_army_USA_attack.BH3 and CTW_Army_USA_stand.BH3 and all the enemy models use CTW_army_cold_enemy.bh3. btw, the gold units are generic pieces like the regular ctw, just in case you could get the individual pieces to work.
Yeah, thanks! what do you think I should do for the Chinese background?

Everyone: I'm swamped with projects and after school rehearsals this entire week, so I won't be able to help much with the project till Friday

To Coldwar Warrior & Nationgears,
if you upload the units sheet in syncplicity, I can go on with the job setting tribes and adding Age of tanks units.

To Dark Rebel,
I hope to solve the trouble to add units to a scenario in "1939-1945 SGW" mod with the install in main directory replacing existing units icons. In that case units should be visible with the scenario editor.
About Age of Tanks mod I started to work on an "Omaha Beach" scenario ( ), but I stopped as I don't know how to place units.

To everyone,
the "Recruitment Office" idea came from the uncle sam poster, but without any project on how to use it.

Thanks for your help, I've narrowed down the ship problem to something in rules.xml. I like the recruitment office, although I can't think how you could implement it.

I would be happy to join the mod team, but I can't promise as much of a time commitment as yourself and Coldwar Warrior.

Is the mod going to use the 'one-hit kill system' or the normal system? Also, will all nations be balanced relatively evenly, or will they be based on their realistic power? (e.g. Germany can defeat Poland reasnably easily)
posted 05-05-10 06:25 AM EDT (US)     88 / 472
Hey Wadis10,
I don't know how I can implement the recruitment office me too. It was an idea that came watching all WW2 posters, maybe I can leave it as building for some scenario coreography.

If you join the mod team none will ask you more of what you feel to do, your experience and the ideas you developed in your mod are enough to have you as someone to listen to.
As I told you this mod will not be a copy of an existing one, it will be the result of the effort of everyone of us.

I used the 'one-hit kill system' in "Age of Tanks" as I used "Blood Red Down" as starting mod.
Here all nations will be based on their realistic power, so a realistic "gun shot" system is needed, how to realize it is something what we (with we I mean all the team, you included) need to talk about.
First is needed a good table of units with their characteristics well defined and translated to the units powers(armor, speed, recharge time etc.), then a good balance.xml file and at that point we can balance the shooting system as much realistic as we can realize.

Here's a thought:

Cavalry can be damaged by armor-piercing bullets, explosives, aircraft, etc.
Normal bullets and weapons will not have as big an effect, but there is a percent chance that the driver will be slain.

Recruitment Office could be used to gain cannon-fodder easily: instead of just a Barracks, you have a Barracks to train the normal infantry, (possibly) an Academy to train the elite infantry, and a Recruitment Office to train the weaker infantry (the raw recruits).
posted 05-05-10 07:35 AM EDT (US)     90 / 472
Hey Random Username,

To have the two effects made by armor-piercing bullets and normal bullets is necessary to set the right percent of effectiveness in balance.xml.
That's what I was talking about in my message to Wadis10.

Nice ideas about Barracks, War Academy and Recruitment Office the lonly matter is to draw all these buildings with at least 3 kinds for each one (Axis, Allied and Neutral).
Someone suggested to have one for each country, so there are 24 countries with 3 kinds of barracks each ones there will be 72 different buildings to draw.
Ok, maybe not all countries has got a War Academy and a Recruitment Office, anyway a lot of job.
Are you with us?
Can you help with it?
Say yes ...pls!!!

Edited: To Coldwar Warrior,
I uploaded some chinese war posters for chinese background.

Here is another thought: Continueing Random Username's thought maybe we should make it so some units have the ability to run up and lay bombs on tanks? Like um.. light infantry opposed to only commandos having those abilities.

Dark Rebel,
you're asking too much at this game.
The maximum you can get is a man throwing granades (some nations has got it in AoT mod), but none can add new actions as they are wrote with a particular .bha extension not available in any 3D program on market.

Edited: I've found this Unit 35 nice building what can be the multifunctions Marines base of Coldwar Warrior:

How bout the recruiment office be a research center for troops and a place you can train partisans, etc. and research techs that lessen the job time of infantry.

Nikox: The marine base should behave like a dock, and be only place able near the sea. Its a good skin, but it needs some sort of dock for the patrol boats.

Coldwar Warrior,
maybe something lake this:
Coldwar Warrior
posted 05-05-10 09:38 PM EDT (US)     95 / 472
sort of,
how about a the original Ron barracks, with a runway and tower from the airbase on a platform from the dock

btw, You don't have to make the skin, If you have something else more important to work on, feel free to work on it. Its my idea anyway, i really should be the one making it

Feeeww! I'm really happy about that, I just realized that I've to rewrite all buildings rules to adapt them at new ages.
Maybe we need to have a table of buildings too.

Coldwar Warrior: Maybe there should be a Bunker left side of barracks. :P

I been talking to Nikox about new ideas.

New Wonder ideas:
-Secret Weapons/Super Base (Don't Yet) (Secret Weapons Research center)
-Radar Air Defense (Supercollider) (Maybe idea)
-V2 Rocket Program (Space Program)
-Super Infantry Base or Maybe A Super Tank Base (Terra Cotta Army)

Ok, I made a table of buildings with their positions in building panels. Syncplicity - Upload folder.

Edited: To Coldwar Warrior, I think now all airbases should be without control towers, radars and they should have just ground runaways.

I've seen the Me262 model, it's really needing a new model. Are you thinking to have the Go229, otherway we can use the Stealth Fighter model for it.

Nikox the Age of tanks mod can't place buildings so if used in scenarios then people will have ti make it part of the objectives. Anyway today i have begun making Rise of Nations: Axis & Allies
