We are starting with first age then going all the way up to Information. Yes, I am making map and no it would not help to pick a random map, that would defeat the whole purpose of the idea... Using the best technologies and wonders to your benefit?

Try picking Tougher Japanese, Romans, or Persians as your allies. They're strong AI opponents in general.

Guy's, thanks for all the info. I did try the Romans yesterday in a Beta map and they were an excellent ally to have. Did have a very hard time destroying there entire base though, they are very persistent (my friends ally is the Maya and he did choose Taj Mahal). I am using the Super Collider and have given my ally the Statue of Liberty. Romans advanced very quickly and starting nuking Maya but Maya is one tough..... Anyway, will try the Germans and Persians today. Keep the info coming, map must be done Sunday for our game Monday. Please read top post for full info on game. Any suggestions on best resources to provide my ally and myself let me know. Right now I'm thinking either to choose Romans or Inca, Inca was one tough one also, and they keep getting recources as there troups are killed which is cool.

DarkMystery, here is a quick recap on what we are doing because you seem like you might be able to help me out. My friend always plays the Bantu with the wonder Terra Cotta, he likes all the extra troups. Towards the end of our games he throws massive air power at my cities. He is good at this game, probably a little better than me. We are making a make starting in classical and working up to the Industrial Age. He is also a very fast builder and has reached the nuke age before me several times which sucks. Its 2 vs.2 One AI as an ally, can pick any wonder we want per nation (one each, any age), any nation as ally, 8 resources of our choice (any), and Mountains, trees, oil, are equal. Any suggestions on strategy in beating him. This is the setup now..... He is Bantu with the Terra Cotta Army wonder, his ally is the Maya with the Taj Mahal. His resources he has picked are...coal, sugar, obsidian, peacocks, titanium, and for ally citrus, tobacco and amber. My nation that I'm think I'm going to go with is the Maya because of their defense bonuses? and my wonder is the Supercollider (I want to beat him to nuke). My ally as of now is between the Inca or Romans with the statue of Liberty as wonder. Am going to test persians and Germans tonight as potential allies. I need a great end game ally that uses lots of jets for defense...my friend sends tons of stealth to destroy everything. My resources are....Copper, citrus, titanium, gems, salt, horses, and sulpher. We do have to cross the ocean to get to each other in this map....two large islands. Any additional info is cool, will check back tomorrow night when I get off work. Peace.....

DarkMystery, missed the part about the Japanese, will also try them tonight.....P.S. should I try to early rush him or beat him to nuke age and nuke the tar out of him and attack, what do you think?

I would suggest you give the AI the super collider. AI are excellent at teching, especially tougher AI gets faster resource gathering. Choose an AI nation that's good on water & at booming (ie Japan, Nubians). For yourself, it's probably better if you get the Statue of Liberty (if he's faster than you, you better have upgraded troops to even out). Try to get sea control early. You'll need lots of wood and metal in the early game. For rares, I would recommend tobacco(wood), citrus(ship), copper(metal), silver(aging), diamond(need I say?), peacock(population) and some late game rares(take your pick). Horses(cheaper stable units) and gems(border pushing) are probably not a good idea for rares in sea map. If you can get early sea control, wealth should not be a problem from the fishing fleet. Carriers, don't forget to make some. Make some fighters of your own to take out his.

Hey TeunicVirus, thanks for the info, will try it out tonight, what do you think of the Inca, they seem to be pretty strong throughout the entire game? If Game goes late I need someone who can survive with no wonders (usually they all get destroyed with air power eventually). Will test some of your ideas tonight and let you know what happened.

DarkMystery, thanks for the post, I did a copy paste to word file so I can look at it better later...Need to take care of priorities for a few hours. Anyway, little update on testing.... redid that map with tested nations against the Maya... Germany.....by info age lost 3 cities and Maya dominated. Japan...lost 2 cities and Maya really dominated. Then I tried a dark horse and was surprised...Russia....dominated the sea and land battles and even took a city but could not hold onto it. Caused massive damage with tons of air power and nukes. I am going to test them tonight but this time with the Supercollider instead of Liberty. Will check out your strategies a little later tonight respond in Morning or tomorrow evening, must have everything finalized by Sunday night on map. Thanks again for all the info and ideas. Hoping the Supercollider will make Russia even that much more dominent.

Yes, I have to agree with you right now on the random performance.... while watching a movie last night I loaded up a game and let it play out with the Russians/Supercollider combo and was shocked... I came back to take a look at the progress about 45 minutes into the game and the Russians were getting killed...the Maya was at age VIII and Russians at VII and had far less resources and lost one of their cities. I think the bottem line is their is several good nations to play for Information age but it depends on what they do in THAT game, what wonders they build, etc... I am starting to think I would be better off with the SuperCollider and giving statue back to ally. I am going to be testing out several more games before I make a final decision... It looks like my friend may have a great combo with the Maya and Taj Mahal. Don't forget I will attempt to take out wonder as fast as possible with air power so I am also wondering what nation would be best with no Wonders at all as he will do the same. Got to work today but am off tomorrow and will be testing out Germans and Japanese again and also Nubians. I think the bottem line is I'm going to have to beat him to the nuke age, build up a massive army like you had listed and attack right after I nuke him several times....?? P.S. quick question.... do you build granery, lumbermill, etc.. in all your cities to increase output or do you just create certain ones?

Update... broke down last night and got the expansion and tested the Germans and Americans twice each and they both dominated and completly destroyed the Maya. I don't think the Maya are as powerful in the expansion? My last tests will be today.... Persians, Japanese, and Inca, will do twice each but honestly the Germans or Americans I think will be my pick, they were both awesome although the Americans did start a little slow but after modern age kicked but Germans seamed pretty steady all the way through. Thanks once again for all the tips and ideas from everyone, will let everyone know the outcome of game Monday night with scores from all 4 sides.

If you choose the Americans as your ally, give them the colosus. They get +3 resources for each infantry, except for knowledge.

Well since getting the expansion my friend has changed his ally to Americans..... oh, great. Anyway, been experimenting with them all day and I'm in for a long day tomorrow when he comes over, they have to be the hardest nation in this game to beat. Anyway, will give final setup and stats tomorrow night in my last post in this area. Thanks again for ideas everyone.

Well everyone who has looked on this post...here is the final... My friend (Bantu) with Terra Cotta and his ally the Americans with Taj Mahal against me (Germans) with the Supercollider and my ally was Germans with Liberty and it was on land. Early on, I rushed Bantu and caused major disruption, destroyed Terra Cotta and lots of citizens which slowed him down tremendously. Was looking good, I took 3 citizens over to my ally and built a fort in front of base to help slow down Americans and several watch towers throughout base hoping they would turn into anti-arcraft guns later. Had to take troops over several times to keep them from losing citied or take them back. Bantu, were weak, had good defensive and was advancing faster than all nations except Americans (They made Americans way to good, hate to say that since I am an American). I don't want to type forever so here is the ending....Because I had to take troops to help Germans non-stop throughout the game, eventually Bantu broke through and had to pay more attention to them....which meant Americans totally wiped out Germans. Did reach nuke age and got nuke shield about same time as Americans but to no avail. Bantu was ineffective against me, Germans were nuked non-stop by Americans and wiped out. With small attacks from Bantu and massive attacks from Americans I fell. Game took about 2 hrs to end and believe it or not I had the high score of game 237,000+ but could not win. Big lose..... After game even my buddy admitted the Americans way to powerful.....if there is a Toughest enemy that can be them making it to modern age and beyond let me know. Appreciate all the feedback, peace out.
