UPDATED: this is version 1.31 of this mod, hopefully the *truly* final version, which fixes a bug that was causing the Alexander campaign to crash, adds sounds (which I had overlooked) to Catapult Ships and Siegeships, and fixes several typos in the help file. See the readme for the full scoop.

Hello, folks. Chaz here. After mulling over the specs for the RoN/TaP units and buildings, it seemed to me that lots of them didn't make sense. So I re-wired 'em! :o)

Here's an example: straight out of the box, a three-man Anti-Tank Missile squad had about the same number of hit points as ...

... a Main Battle Tank.

Sure, it's three guys, and they can (in one's imagination) avoid some damage by taking cover, and by dint of (presumed) body armor.

But still: compared to a *tank*? That's just ridiculous.

MBTs are the kings of the battlefield (at least on the ground), and needed stats to show that.

So my goal was to improve units and buildings as necessary, mainly in the later Ages, but largely within the statistical parameters and precedents set by Big Huge Games.

So this isn't an attempt at true realism. If it were, then the Armored Cav would have to do 50-100 times more damage than the Conquistador, then I'd have to increase the hit points for the MBT and Advanced Battleship, then I'd have to make nukes do a million points of damage, and that'd just be too much work. :o)

Saw no need to re-invent a very nice wheel. Just wanted to "chrome it up" a little.

Also note that this remix includes Battleman's Improved Naval Warfare 2.0 patch, XenonDDR's flak ammo mod, and several improved unit skins from various authors featured here on ron.heavengames.com. I can't remember who created what, but everything I include in this mod is the best I've seen, and so big thanks to all our artists. :-)

(NOTE TO USERS IN GERMANY: some Modern Age German re-skins include swastikas. This is NOT an endorsement of Der Fuhrer -- only an endorsement of historical reality (and free speech). If installing this mod violates local laws, well ... you have been warned.)

For the highlights (which include sea and land Harriers, Ballistic Missile Subs, better variety of Jet Fighter Bombers, pop cap increase, re-distribution of Wonders throughout the Ages, more spacious Airbases and Carriers, and tougher/deadlier armored vehicles), check out the readme.

Hope you like this mod. It's been a blast to make, and I think it's equally fun to play. :-)

Williams It's really great, like all the previous versions!!!I don't see why have there been only 57 downloads, when this is one of the best mods in uploaded onto the site.
edilberto but is only for modern and informatuon age?

Hi, guys,

Thanks for the praise! :-) This mod isn't *only* for the Modern and Info Ages, although most of the big changes occur then.

Changes in the earlier Ages include unlocking scenario-only units, e.g. Ironclads for the British, Americans, and a couple others. Also, I changed the Ages in which certain Wonders are available.

masterdust Hey great job on this mod.. This is the main mod I use only for my RON TaP. I like all your additions and have to say that this mod works quite properly without errors this far. Only one addition I would like to see... Can you add a NUCLEAR MISSILE SUB to this mod or state the changes to be made to get a NUCLEAR MISSILE SUB? Also is it possible to add the Mig-17 aircraft to the Modern Age for the Russians and their allies example China and other Communist supported states? At present I have a Yak fighter for the Russians but before that is propeller driven I think. During the Cold War the Mig-17s were classic Soviet jet aircrafts. So my idea was to have a Mig-17 as an upgrade to the Yak fighter in the Modern Age after maybe a military research is done or something like that.

The Mig-17s then should be at least the fastest aircraft in the Modern Age and have a bit more armor than other Modern Age planes.

I been using this mod as my base mod for a while now without any faults or crashes or anything. 5 stars for a proper mod. Thanks also to any modders whose work may have gone into this combo mod. This was well done. Keep up the good work! Any chance of making a Mod that enables the Cruise Missile Submarines fire a toned down NUCLEAR MISSILE???????? No use having Boomers in your Navy Fleet that fire pellets ;-). Anyways good job and if possible please update the Subs to fire NUCLEAR MISSLES. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
drummbomb i have installed it according to your directions and have found that only the art seems to be working. i need help
