Vex550 This script appears to work really well. It is easy to edit if you think your computer can handle more then 400.

Note, the game starts with a population capacity of 400, and does not change unless you build the colossos, where it then goes to 450.

I have never tried multi player, so if this works in that just as well, please post.

to use, simply unzip into your Rise of Nations directory.

Was not intended for expansion, dont have it, might not work with it.

Comes with bonus Ancient_Age script, where if you start in the ancient age, you can not advance past it.

lordhexxer What about if you use the Bantu civilization? Part of their civilization bonus is extra population count. What happens theb?

I forgot about that nation's ability. When I get back to the computer that has RoN on it, then I will fix this if possible.
datpiff ny does this work with thrones and patriots? I have rise of nations gold.. someone please tell me which folder to extract the population mod to..
Turkish General there should be a "scripts" or "script library" file find it put it there then u'l be able to select it in quick match or multi.(I have GoLD eDition tooo.)
therightchoice Does this work so you can put the population up to 400 in the game setup before u start or does it just do it??

Vex551 Sorry for the long delay, I never did get back to a computer with RoN until now.

The way the script works is that it starts off your population at 400.

I have just installed RoN gold and the script does not appear to work. I will try and repost it once I get it working for Gold
Vex551 After playing around with the settings, set_population_cap does not seem to work in T&P.

I made a simple script where I basically just did this:

if( population(1) < 350)
print_game_msg("Player 1 has a population of: " + population(1));
print_game_msg("Setting player 1 pop to: " + 350);
set_population_cap( 1, 350);
print_game_msg("Player 1 pop set to: " + population(1));

What I got in game was my population was unchanged and my messages on the side was a constant repeat of:

Player 1 has a population of: 6
Setting player 1 pop to: 350
Player 1 pop set to: 6

I dont understand it, so anyway, I'm not going to update this script because either T&P has disabled population modifications in quick games or I am incapable of doing so.
Vex551 one more thing, I tried altering that the line above so it was:
i = set_population_cap( 1, 350);
print_game_msg("setpop returns: " + i);

and that line, no in with everything else says setpop returns: 350

So I am sure that the script is working, its just that T&P has some sort up built in refresh on the population cap. Well, it will still work for the original.
richikneogi So I just unzip this in the directory? Nothing else?
