Makes many changes to Unitrules, Buildingrules, Craftrules, Resourcerules, Rules, Techrules in my attempt to make the game more fun and realistic. These changes to the data files are many so I will sum them up the best I can.

Extract to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Rise of Nations

WARNING: NOT BALANCED

Changes to Unitrules: Lowers HP on everything (Footmen die in one tank shell hit), increases range by many units (Some Artillery has up to 45 range now), Increases build time, adds chance to miss on units, changes armor on some units (Tanks and such), adds splash damage to some units that were in need of it, anti tank gunners now in units of only 1 instead of 3, many units fire less often for balance reasons (Artillery), and many other changes too extensive to list.

*Changes to Buildingrules: Changes towers, increases build time, removes support costs from most buildings, many other changes.
*Changes to Craftrules: Disables bribe, ambush forced march, and other unrealistic crafts, keeps entrench.
*Changes to Resourcerules: Changes the amounts given to become less powerful on some.
*Changes to Rules: Income from single peasant decreased to 2, gathering resources now takes much longer, commerce cap set to 999+ for all levels, radius of many buildings increased, can now build far from your cities, wood cutters camp now has a much farther radius, many other changes.
*Changes to Techrules: Disables the 4 super powerful information techs, disables attrition in enemy territory, many other changes.

*Changes unit rules and balances them more, adds dead zone to early ranged units such as bowmen to keep them from owning melee units.
*Makes nukes better, makes all missiles cost more and take much longer to create.
*Adds Ironclad unit for those who get Republic and Democracy, adds Nuclear Missile Sub to those who get Democracy.
*Buildings now take twice as long to build then they did in version 1.
*Ground units now have 25 LOS, air have 50.

*Experimental TO_HIT turned down to 95 on many units.
*Nerfed early ranged units.

*Redone unit costs. Other minor changes.

FantasyFan This changes the whole game and its tactics, some people will like it, others hate it (for sure)
What are the "annoying craft" that you mentioned ?
Krazydude I've tried it, but im thinking in changing back... I mean, its great but your land armys are way too small, the resources take forever to gather etc...

Yeah, I can understand why a lot of people won't like this, I put it up here mostly as a backup for myself.

Mostly the point is to keep the game from turning into a micro management competition with the computer.


The annoying crafts are things like ambush and forced march, things that are kind of retarded, you can't make an entire army turn invisible!

I appreciate your idea, such work will be great sometimes if you want RON to be realistic (more changes to make it perfect will be the best)
arcticwarrior ey mate can you plz tell me how can i install your mod? im new at this and i cant figure it out...it must be grate!

stp52x This is a very good idea.

But there is only one variable, out of all of these alterations,that has caught my attention-bribery. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how you removed the bribery option. It is driving me >mad

I made it cost more craft then spies have.
