Maybe you didn't know that you can enlarge your Iface_units files and fit it with new icons without loosing any of the original ones..
Here are the iface_units files plus iface_govs.tga and iface_buildings_CTW.tga what I used in my Age of Tanks mod.

There are 149 new icons(updated on november 4th 2009, with more air and land units)and with an installer what will over-write these files into yours main folders:

into your "..\Rise of Nations\art" folder:
- iface_units_01.tga,
- iface_units_01_half.tga
- iface_units_02.tga,
- iface_units_02_half.tga
- iface_buildings_military.tga
- iface_buildings_military_half.tga

And into "..\Thrones and Patriots\art\" folder:

- iface_units_03.tga,
- iface_units_03_half.tga,
- iface_buildings_CTW.tga,
- iface_govs.tga.

To enable the iface_units files you should edit your unit_graphics.xml
file and set the tex_id= to the iface_units where is the icon you wanna use

tex_id="TEX_UNITS_0" for iface_units_01.tga
tex_id="TEX_UNITS_1" for iface_units_02.tga
tex_id="TEX_UNITS_2" for iface_units_03.tga

followed by tex_col= tex_row= value of your icon.

(if you want use the "Bf 109 Emil" icon in iface_units_03.tga)

tex_id="TEX_UNITS_2" tex_col="7" tex_row="11"

They can be used outside the mod using them without seeing any change!

Updated with:
- all new icons splitted in all iface_units files.
- iface_govs.tga with 2 more rooms.
- iface_buildings_CTW.tga with extra bunkers icons.

camilo13 Now is complete it... I love this new Mod!
But anyway, the name of the troops like "Wehrmacht." is not like the most technical word, but no problem... I like the mobile Nashorn and the BF 190... Very nice indeed... Salute.
motter28218 This is really neat, just wondering would you mind writing a quick tutorial on how you did this, I have Fireworks installed which can view .tga files but when I tried what you did I got an error. Great Job! Please let the modding community know how this was done it would be a great tool.

It's easy, you need to change the "canvas size" of the Iface file. Originally it's 512 pixels width and 512 pixels height. I made a copy of the last line(512 x 41 pixels), put on it the new icons, then I enlarged the main file of 40 pixels (the first black line of the new group is going over the last line of the main group). Copy and paste it as a new layer. I'm doing it one line each time as I don't know if there is a limit at it. Actually I have 22 rows and it looks working fine.

Wadis10 A great discovery Nikox, it will be very useful if/when I get around to adding custom icons to my mod.
