Realistic Changes

Author File Description
File Details
Needs T&P?: Yes
Dear viewers,

I made some realistic changes. Thanks to all of the modding advisors in the forum. The features are:

-CTW units available in the quick battle and scenario editor;
-Light Cavalry units available on Ancient Age;
-Forage research available on Classical Age; and
-a lot of surprises awaiting for you!

I found a bug on the General. If you found some another bugs, tell me and I'll fix it or you can help me. Please give some comments after using this mod.

Remember: Have a copy of the original data before you have my data on it.

P.S.: You need to have a medium to high cpu to run Rise of Nations Thrones and Patriots after all.
Dear downloaders,

An update is released. More realistic than before.

Still, there's a bug on the General unit. I couldn't find and fix it. Can someone help me?

Have fun!

Nikox Hi Hubert,
I just gave a fast look at your mod and your unitrules file is not aligned as the original one.
Maybe in this way the game can't read it properly and I think it's the reason why you can't have the general in some tribes, but I didn't have time to re-wrote it and check if it's true.
Try to use a copy of the original file and mod it with a different xml program.
You can find several free on the net.
(I use firstobject XML Editor)
If I'll like the changes you made, can I use them in my mod (Ages of Tanks)??

Hi Nikox,

Thanks for your comment. I've played a several nations and found that if the nation has one or more CTW generals, then the nation cannot build a general after that age (for example, if you use French, you can't train a general after Enlightenment Age because of the appearence of Napoleon). Could you tell me how the bug can be fixed? Still, all nations can research the Thrones and have Patriots. Plus, feel free to use it in Age of Tanks.

Nikox Ok Hubert,
I tested it as french in different ages scenarios the result is:
- no Napoleon appears on the map.
- if you start in gunpowder age you can't see any units in stable, barracks, docks. Just the hero in town and general and spy in fort,
also if you reach the enlightment age (or if you start a scenario in that age).
- starting from industrial age you'll get back units, but no general.
- you can see all units only if you start from medieval age or earlier.

I have no idea how to solve it without checking all units you modded.
To do it without checking all 364 units in the unitrules file I'll need, at least, a list of them and the changes applied.
Sorry if I'm not helpfull.

Dear Nikox,

Thanks for your reply. I've tested again but found no problem on what you've said except the bug I've said before. Is there anything required besides these 6 XMLs? (I don't know because I'm new in Rise of Nations) Please tell me.

Dear all downloaders,

If you have the problems same as Nikox, replace those 6 XMLs with the original XMLs. Then, download the mod from this site: http://www.uploadline.com/033055168178/Realistic_Changes.zip

Put the unzipped file into Rise of Nations\mods. Open Rise of Nations T&P, select Quick Battle mode and have the Game Rules set to 'Custom'. Select Game Mods (Realistic Changes). It should work fine. Still, the bug couldn't be fixed. Sorry for that.

Nikox, Could you please try the mod out? Then, tell me whether your problems are solved or not.

If you have any questions, please write them out. See if I or someone else could help. Have fun!

Special Thanks: One_Dead_Angel (the Mod Creator helped me a lot)
