Simple Battle of Thermopylae

Needs T&P?: Yes
I wanted to make a simple battle of thermopylae. There are 879 defending greeks (I believe) against well over 6,000 attacking persians divided over three players. The map is thrown together in ten minutes, But I have taken time in the adjusting the unit stats for a good battle.

The Persians will always win everytime(If all four of the persian armies are used). The fun is in the fight, I prefer being the Greeks, which have Greek Hoplites, Thespians, and best of all, Spartans, even though I always lose.

A short, simple skirmish, takes 5-20+ minutes, and is fun to do several times.
I do use a mod that re-skins Iroquois Spear men to make them look like spartans, and I use a mod that changes unit uber-size to 1. Those are not truly necessary for gameplay, but they make it better. Both are included in the main download.

I can't figure out how to add a victory timer in a normal scenario, so if anybody could tell me how that'd be great.

sargonthegreat Maybe you should add a script that makes it so that if the Greek Nations hold out and don't get defeated for a long enough amount of time, they attain victory.

I could do that. But the greeks are supposed to lose, that's how it was in history. There were approximately 7000 greeks vs. 200,000 to 2,000,000 persians (I'm not sure about exact numbers, heard them all over the place). I will be adding more persians, changing the map (some eyecandy), and probably make win conditions in the future though.
sargonthegreat Yeah, but technically speaking, their goal was to lose. So technically, that would be a victory. They went in there knowing they would be defeated, so their general goal was to delay the Persian advance and if that is achieved in the scenario, it should be a victory.

You've got a point there. Maybe I could just make it so that if the Greeks can hold for a certain amount of time they win. It would be simple but it would work. That way the Persians would have to take their capital as soon as possible, and the Greeks just have to hold out.

If anybody else has any suggestions it'd be great to hear them. I should be updating this soon with some of things suggested thus far. I'll add a victory timer to the Greek capital for sure. I'll also add more persian units and fix some other things I didn't like.

targoon Well yes the Greeks lose at thermapalaye, but if you make it so when the greeks lose that battle you get another supply of troops (not really hapens but it substitutes for the length of the journey from Thermapalaye to Athens) and then you have to hold out for another 5 while Athens evacuates
