In 1885, after a year-long siege, Charles Gordon's Khartoum fell to the Mahdists.
The Mahdi died soon after and his successor, the Khalifa, was left with control over the Sudan.
With French and Italian influence advancing towards the Nile, British commander Kitchener
was later ordered to prepare a reconquest of the Sudan at the head of an Anglo-Egyptian force.
The map was specifically designed to protect the economies of both sides to provide a steady income for war.
Victory is decided by conquest.
Cities on the battlefield are capturable.
The barracks, stables and siege factories are finite and exposed.
The scenario is playable as a 3v3 or equivalent number with CPUs added.
