On August 4th, 1914, six brigages detached from the Second German Army - The Army of the Meuse - began the first move in the execution of the Schlieffen/Moltke Plan - to smash quickly through the defenses of Liège, Belgium. Neither Schlieffen nor Moltke counted on a spirited defense at Liège by a small but proud Belgian division, led by General Leman, who had been ordered by his King to hold out to the bitter end. Hold out he did, for 12 more days, the modern forts of the city preventing von Kluck's First Army from crossing the Meuse in strength. In order to get through the gap, the forts needed to be destroyed, one by one, piece by piece, before the Germans could continue.

Playability: 3
Its fairly playable.
Balance: 3
somewhat balanced, eventually you can succeed, but it takes awhile.
Creativity: 4
very creative, the reinforcement system was kind of unique
Map Design: 3
decent map design if a little simple.
Story/Instructions: 3
goals are clear and concise.
Additional Comments:
Well, I would've given it a higher rating, but in all honesty it bored me a little bit. You send your forces against the forts until they are estinguished, and then you wait for more reinforcements. I couldnt find a whole lot of strategy, you simply move your forces to attack the forts. Because of this, I didnt really enjoy it much; however if you enjoy simple movements and watching the action, you will like this scenario. So even though this didnt entertain me much, others might like it a lot. |

Yes, other people have said the same thing. I have released V2, which someone said at RoNO made it much better. Unfortunately, one trigger doesn't work so I will be releasing V3 both here and at RoNO soon. |

Most of the game was just to the destroy the forts and the units.. not too much, also, you could build cities and a country (by training citizens) what shouldnt be and there was no way to win this scenarios because even after destroying all forts and capturing Liege youi werent victorious.
Balance: 4
The balance was ok in the end there werent too many man but you could train some after taking the city and there was no need in it after that.
Creativity: 3
It was a scripted scenario and you chose a great story.
Map Design: 2
there wasnt too much on the terrain. Only one river and a forest.
Story/Instructions: 5
There was story included in the scenario and objectives explaining the instructions.
Additional Comments:
Some things should be fixed look above at the playability section. |

Playability: 2
Capturing the city was a great fun, but taking the forts one by one 12 times was boring! Also, The game couldnt be won.
Balance: 4
The reinforcments were enough to take the city and some forts, and you could also build units after capturing the city.
Creativity: 3
The game wasnt the most creative, as map was lame script was barely and gameplay was a bit boring after sometime, but it had potential.
Map Design: 2
All can see you didint invest your time in the map. Too bad.
Story/Instructions: 5
Very good hob on this part. The story was explained and objectives were placed.
Additional Comments:
The victory problems comes from the fact that you didint make the victory conditions to kill all units and buildings of the enemy. Game has potetial though! |
