On August 4th, 1914, six brigages detached from the Second German Army - The Army of the Meuse - began the first move in the execution of the Schlieffen/Moltke Plan - to smash quickly through the defenses of Liège, Belgium. Neither Schlieffen nor Moltke counted on a spirited defense at Liège by a small but proud Belgian division, led by General Leman, who had been ordered by his King to hold out to the bitter end. Hold out he did, for 12 more days, the modern forts of the city preventing von Kluck's First Army from crossing the Meuse in strength. In order to get through the gap, the forts needed to be destroyed, one by one, piece by piece, before the Germans could continue.
Version notes : Major Error fixed. (Some people may have noticed that after 10 seconds, they were greeted by some reinforcements) New objective added. New division of German Troops appear at the start. Citizens cannot be created.

Playability: 4
(pretty playable)
Balance: 4
(balance might be good, I found it a little too hard myself. I gave it a 4 because I didnt know how long we are expected to be attacking the forts, and I assumed others could do better than I did.)
Creativity: 5
(Very creative. Neat fort system.)
Map Design: 5
(the map was well-designed. It's tough to find all of the forts, but you have a specific area denotated to work around.)
Story/Instructions: 4
(story was good and historical)
Additional Comments: Again, I found it hard to sit there and wait for reinforcements in order to take one of the 12 forts. The scenario is much more polished and that's why I gave it a much better score this time. I don't really like scenarios like this, but you did an excellent job on it, and that is commendable. So overall excellent job!!
oh and by the way, can you check up on my scenario and give it some comments, or maybe a review, that would help a lot.

Playability: 1
Can't be won. After achieving all three objectives, the scenario doesnt stop.
Balance: 1
Germans can snipe the forts from long range to destroy them all. The Belgian forces should be able to do more.
Creativity: 2
Has potential, Maybe do something with the farmers, instead of just letting their farms burn down.
Map Design: 4
Good map design. Well thought out.
Story/Instructions: 1
Based on history, cant go wrong. Objectives are stated up front but cant be acheived.
Additional Comments:
Has good potential. I like the historical connection.
The city of Schaegen is a waste.
Should use the code - disable_city_defeat(1);
under the run once section in your script.
Maybe the next version will work or maybe v6 or v7 ...

Playability: 2
Capturing the city was a great fun, but taking the forts one by one 12 times was boring! Also, The game couldnt be won.
Balance: 4
You added more reinforcments at the beginning and disabled the citizen which was a good thinking, making it more challenging.
Creativity: 3
The game wasnt the most creative, as map was lame script was barely and gameplay was a bit boring after sometime, but it had potential.
Map Design: 2
All can see you didint invest your time in the map. Even the farms were destroyed before i could see them.
Story/Instructions: 5
Very good hob on this part. The story was explained and objectives were placed.
Additional Comments:
The victory problems comes from the fact that you didint make the victory conditions to kill all units and buildings of the enemy. And about the farms, try to ally the farmers with the belgiums so attrition wont be taken, and set them on war with germany. |
