WWI - The Battle of Liege V5

Author File Description
jimmy_pat1403 On August 4th, 1914, six brigages detached from the Second German Army - The Army of the Meuse - began the first move in the execution of the Schlieffen/Moltke Plan - to smash quickly through the defenses of Liège, Belgium. Neither Schlieffen nor Moltke counted on a spirited defense at Liège by a small but proud Belgian division, led by General Leman, who had been ordered by his King to hold out to the bitter end. Hold out he did, for 12 more days, the modern forts of the city preventing von Kluck's First Army from crossing the Meuse in strength. In order to get through the gap, the forts needed to be destroyed, one by one, piece by piece, before the Germans could continue.

I know this is my scenario, but I have a few things I don't like about Kenneys update. I just want to see if anyone agrees with me.

Script: There doesn't seem to be any objective or text saying that the General must survive. There is a lot of triggers which have // before them. Why is this? These triggers will never fire.

Actual Scenario: Flamethrowers weren't used in the battle. I see the point of Supply Wagons, but why should they be armed? And, I saw a Barracks in the city of Liege. Keeping to history, and how this is a Fixed Force Style Scenario, Belgians shouldn't be able to train more units. And, it seems pretty wierd that the 5 or so Farmers (That are armed) attempt suicide against the German Army? The farms were for looks basically. I should have set neutral attrition to 0.

If anyone agrees, please comment below. I am not being mean Kenney, but I do dislike it when people just edit my work and so forth without asking. Next time ask before doing this, or just suggest fixes.
Kenney That's why I emailed it to you instead of just posting it. I didnt intend to be rude, my appologies.

In the script all the lines with // before them is what you originally wrote. I had to keep it for reference to figure out what you were trying to do.

As far as the general surviving, you cant have an objective that checks to see if a gen survived only if one is killed. That's the way BHG made it. I did leave the trigger in as a consequence. Also I changed general von emmich to a hero character on a horse, as all his photos show him on a black(white faced) stallion.
Also historicly speaking, the germans should have a Chasseur battalion along with 1 Hussar squad per Brigade. And they didnt bring in any heavy artillery until after the first day.

Also the germans had 1 squadron of monoplanes and of course a Zeppelin. Liege was the infamous first use of a Zeppelin in war.

There are reports of gas in the bombardment of the forts, so I added the flame throwers. Also on the belge side there were 4 regiments of reserves made up from the village, hence the farmers being militia. The belge also had a regiment of hussars.

It is historicly noted that on the first day, the army of the Meuse(germans) brought the 2nd cav corp (the 4th and 9th reg), 2 batteries of 4 21cm mortars; 1 squadron of aircraft; 1 zeppelin for aerial bombing. Total size was 59,800, with 35,000 rifles, 100 machine guns, 100 cannon, and 14,000 sabres. (they counted sabres back then?)

Any way it's your scenario, it's a great map and you can change it anyway you like. I think it would be great if you could figure out how to reskin the helicopter and turn it into a Zeppelin. That would be mega-cool.
