The Entire World: Extended, v 1.0
This is my modification of the Rise of Nations: Thrones & Patriots Entire World CtW game. To install, extract the zip to your Thrones & Patriotsconquest directory. The files included should all go to the right folders, but if not, follow these instructions:
1.) Unzip the Baryonyx_Extended_World.zip file to a directory of your choice.
2.) Copy the ExtendedWorld folder to your Thrones & Patriotsconquest directory.
3.) Copy the RENDER_CTW_Extended_World_Map_01.png file to your Thrones & Patriotsconquestrendermap directory.
4.) Copy the following files to your Thrones & Patriotsconquest directory:
CTW_Extended_World_Map_01.xml
CTW_Extended_World_Map_01.png
CTW_Extended_World_Map_01_strings.xml
CTW_Extended_World_Map_01_info_text.xml
To play, select the "The Entire World: Extended" from your CtW selection screen's "Custom Map" listing.
Features:
-- 29 new territories, including all new ones Carribean, Hispaniola, New Zealand, Indonesia, and New Guinea
-- Modified render map that reflects new sea links, and adds parts of Antarctica at the bottom.
-- Modified rare resource, wonder, tribute, and card allocations.
-- Vassal diplomacy options
-- Territory income
-- New card deck
-- All of the non-custom scenarios, like Liberation, Airlift, and Skirmish from the historical CtW campaigns.
-- Colonies, including a custom script handling their allocation.
Have fun storming the castle!

Great stuff, Baryonyx, but I encountered a problem...at the very start.
I chose the Mongols and decided to try Northeast China.
The objectives were to destroy Guerilla camps, but after a while of nothing, I decided to "cheat reveal". There were no opponents on the map (I did wonder when I saw Jayavarman's score of 50, but it was a bit disappointing when I saw nothing). Please fix it, because I don't know how Korea will ever survive the third round. :p
Edit: Turns out that Tibet has the same problem. Thinking there was no-one there, I decided to go for the territory. I ended up with the entire map in red but no victory.[Edited on 09/18/04 @ 03:19 AM]

Great mod, except for one small problem I noticed. In the Liberation scenarios, the enemy always starts with Modern Age Infantry units, no matter what age the scenario is taking place in.
That makes it kinda difficult to play a Liberation scenario in the earlier ages, and that's especially annoying because it seems like so many critical territories have to be taken through Liberation scenarios.
Overall though, I still rate this as the best mod out there. |

Great map! I can't say for all the campaigns, I'm using RoN without TaP, so I tweaked it to work in RoN. Mind if I post the RoN version? |

here's a fixed script for liberation giving the enemy infantry and pikemen. just overwrite the liberationsetup.bhs script in \conquest\ExtendedWorld\. also gives the player and rebels some units, because frankly i just couldn't create any units in time to get them from italy to north africa.
include "ctw_lib.bhs"
conquest {
int diff = get_difficulty();
for (i = 2; i < 9; i++) {
set_leader_difficulty (i, diff);
}
set_leader_difficulty(3, 1);
set_leader_name(3, $S("Rebels"));
declare_war(2, 3);
declare_war(2, 3);
make_alliance(1, 3);
city_name = find_capital(2);
city_id = find_city_id(city_name);
x = object_position_x(2, city_id);
y = object_position_y(2, city_id);
for (i = 1; i < 9; i++) {
city_name = find_capital(i);
city_id = find_city_id(city_name);
x = object_position_x(i, city_id);
y = object_position_y(i, city_id);
if (i == 2) {
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Slingers", diff);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Hoplites", diff);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Light Horse", diff);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Cataphract", diff);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "General", 1);
} else {
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Slingers", 2);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Hoplites", 2);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Bowmen", 2);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Light Horse", 1);
create_unit_upgrade(i, x, y, "Horse Archer", 1);
}
}
set_good(2, "Food", 200 + (diff*75));
set_good(2, "Timber", 200 + (diff*75));
set_good(2, "Metal", 200 + (diff*75));
set_good(2, "Wealth", 200 + (diff*75));
set_good(2, "Oil", 200 + (diff*75));

Extrodinary! This is a definite mod to download. I, myself, have been searching for an extended version of ctw, and here it is.
Not much else to say, just great work!
Additional Comments:
Perhaps next you could focus on placing more territories in Europe? |
