It was risky but I just wanted to try it!!
All was random. When I saw the map type and my nation - I was sure (90%) the rush would be OK. On that map a good player concentrates on docks and fishing first then commerce2 to build on the islands - so the chances were good.
My teammate didn't even noticed what map type we were playing. Even when I said him and he was at the comfortable rear side he wasn't going to boom and build on the other islands... So I suppose we would have lost if I didn't rush
It is only 7 min and some 15 seconds game.. Watch it plz, and I would be happy to hear your advice. What was good and what was wrong? What I should have done better?
2. I had to attack the second capital and not the second city of the other enemy. I had scouted it well enough to see that his capital was unprotected. Still I sent some slingers to take out his peasants and destroy his economy.
Why don't you write what do you think was done good or could have been done better?

I think you were pretty slow with that rush and made a few mistakes. You only won because both of your opponenets were very unexperienced, yellow didn't even have a second city. Yellow also did not micro his units and just ran his archers into your slingers. He also didn't try very hard to repair his capital and did not build any additional units. Also, green did not help one bit even though he had plenty of time and resources to.
Ancient rushing is very risky, especially on warring states where the allies are right next to each other. If you don't do it just right, you will lose. You need to attack faster, 4:30 is a little late to be hitting his capital with the few units that you built. You should have made 4 HI and immidiately sent them for his cap, and then build one slinger to follow them. After that, keep building HI for reinforcements, and maybe 1 archer as well. Use your scout to find his units to see what he has, if archers let your slingers move forward first, with HI behind. Against Koreans, you need to kill the civilians repairing the city. Also, you should have rearched sci 1 earlier and moved up to classical and upgrade your units sooner.
Personally, I am not a fan of the ancient rush. It is just too risky, and only works against unprepared noobs. It is better to make a powerful late classical attack with Romans I think, or a 150 with French. Attacking with >10 HI and 3-5 LC at 7-8 minutes with Romans is espcially deadly.

Thx for watching it.
You are surely right.. It was risky and I knew that. I played random and became japs on that map. So I wanted to try it but I sent my scout first. I had the feeling they were noobs less skilled than me. So I wasn't really afraid.. And when I saw the other 1 building the second city there I knew I had to do it fast. I didn't research anything at that point looking for the cap sack bonus. After getting it I saw there wasn't any real point to do something else - the game was over. And yes - if his team mate had helped him he could have repelled my attack and I would have lost. I thaught of that every second in that game - but my partner did help me a bit with archers despite his words against the rush. And it was decisive.
And I tried rushes in other games. No one seems to really expect someone doing something stupid like this in an early game. But it bring that adrenaline fountaine into my brain. Though I never lost a game like that. The clue is the right decision if you do it - scout to see if it is a noob, no russian, no free archers like english and not to far away. Your own nation is very important too.
I cannot play the games like you do - a skill issue, so I am happy to make it short and quick - a lack of later concentration.
