The Iraq Campaign

Author File Description
KingRoy1 This is my last few batches of Iraq Maps. They are all here: Fallujah, my first urban warfare map. Then there is the anticipated Basra, which i worked my ass off on after having NUMEROUS game crashes. and finally a quick skirmish game called Iran, where you have to kill off hordes of Iranian Terrorists. These are all the maps in this pack. The reason why I'm making this the last iraq maps i make is because sitting down putting building after building is way too tiring for me :) Sorry, but this type of urban warfare is going to take a break. But enjoy these maps for now and Happy Terrorist Hunting :)

Very good here. Fallujah and Basra were pretty challenging, Iran was not so hard but fun. Everything worked together well and I have not experienced any problems.

Balance: 5
This was excellent in all the scenarios. When you can finish with only 3 remaining units, I say thats good balance.

Creativity: 5
Very original, I have not seem many large urban fighting scenarios other then in the cold war campaign. I think these scenarios are a good example of how to create urban warfare and fixed force scenarios. The selection of enemy troops actually look like terrorists.

Map Design: 5
All of the buildings placed on the two maps Fallujah and especially Basra were impressive. The hills and river running through and the center fighting was great in Iran.

Story/Instructions: 4
All of the short pop up text messages certainly made things more interesting. Giving you a heads up on what is going on.

Additional Comments:
This author had done an excellent job on these. I look forward to any future scenarios he will create.

Well, like i said, this kind of urban warfare is going to take a break for now. the scripting and building placing is VERY tedious and annoying for me. Now, i know WW2 (especially D-Day) has been done to death, but u gotta trust me on this one. I'm finishing up now, a Normandy Map that is packed with Nazi killing fun! :) I'll release it soon, but I'm thinking, and i need a quick answer for this, should i just release my Normandy map, or should i make a whole WW2 Campaign? tell me what u think i should do.
Warspite2 I was going to say how about one more in IRAQ, a Nasiriyah? WW2 is good though, in my opinion, there can't ever be enough WW2 battles. I am working on a pacific theater based WW2 scenario right now, Tarawa. If the scenarios are not taking you very long to create, I say make them a campaign pack. Like you done here with Iraq.

'Aight Homie. I'ze will make a Campizzle fo' World war Tizzle. Like my Jive? lol! actually, my Campaign is going to take a while to make. i want it to be better than Fallujah, no, not better, just perfect! These are the scenarios i made so far:

Normandy
Market Garden
Siegfried Line

these are the ones i still have to make:

Hurtgen Forest
Ardennes Forest
Bastogne
Southern France
In the Rhineland

i don't think ALL of these will be in my Campaign, but I will add as much as i can. I will promise, however, that every scenario will be packed with fun and realism at the same time. I'm taking all of these scenarios form this book I'm reading called, "Citizen Soldiers" by Stephen E. Ambrose. I'll probably finish this Campaign in another 2 weeks. i have to make it perfect :)
TrooperJoe I have an ider for your WWII campagin. If u can, play the game Battle Field 1942, if you havent. Check out their asome market garden and some of the other excolent maps on that game. Just a sugestion.

My WWII Campaign is out now- It's called, "Citizen Soldiers". Market Garden is in there, and it is somewhat similar to the one in BF 1942 (did u try BF Vietnam yet? its really cool!)
mcoleman4 Hi,
I was trying to play your Basra map and keep experiencing a crash. At first I thought it was my resoloution, so I moved it back down to 1024x768x32 and that didn't help. The crash occurs after the map loads and I can see the american troops. There is the pop up about Iran and as soon as I click OK, CRASH!!
I'd really like to play the Iraq campaign because it looks pretty interesting. Thanks for any help!!!

yea, i was gettin the same crap too, but i thionk its because i put too many houses. some computers crash when there are too many objects in a RoN map. i suggest u play these maps on a better pc, or edit it ur self and try to remove some buildings. but thats the best i can do for u now. enjoy!
