Needs T&P?: |

To install:
For the regular TAP:
-go to my computer.
-go to your hard drive, on most computers its local disk C.
-go to program files.
-go to microsfot games.
-go to rise of nations Thrones and Patriots.
-go to the directory called "art."
-now cut and paste all of my art files into there.
-now go to the folder called "data," and cut and paste my "soundfiles" xml file into that folder. My soundfiles xml file is located inside my data file in the Battlefield 1943 folder.
-now cut and paste all of the sounds I have provided into the folder called "sounds."
For the Gold Edition:
-go to my computer.
-go to your hard drive, on most computers its local disk C.
-go to program files.
-go to microsfot games.
-go to rise of nations.
-go to the directory called "art."
-now cut and paste all of my art files into there.
-now go to the folder called "thrones and patriots."
-now go to the folder called "data," and cut and paste my "soundfiles" xml file into that folder. My soundfiles folder is located inside my data file in the Battlefield 1943 folder.
-now go back to the main directory.
-now cut and paste all of the sounds I provided into the folder called "sounds."
Now pop it into the mods directory, and select it on the quick battles menu.
If you want to make scenarios overwrite everything.
All the sounds will work if you follow my directions, don't worry nothing will be overwrited except for the "soundfiles" xml file, you might want to make a backup of that file. But it won't delete any of the current sounds in the game it will just add new ones so it is no harm, but if you are paranoid then go ahead and back it up.
-----------------------------------------------
New Changes v. 2.0:
-France (French)
-Germany finally gets its legendary Tiger 1
-Italy gets the Panzer Mark 111
-The Waffen SS can now build Panzer 4's
-Most tanks have been made more accurate
-American BAR has been boosted.
-Volksgrenadier uber size has been icreased to 3
-France recieves the Eiffel Tower, and the Versailles Wonder
-Nukes take much more longer to build
-Artillery ranges have been reduced
-The range of most naval units have been reduced
Guys give a round of applause for ODA and Unit35 for the great job they have done on the Tiger 1. And give ODA another round of applause for his hard work on the Panzer 3 skin. So if you are reading this ODA thanks again!
Okay I have decided to do one more patch: v. 2.2, to include the Aussies and the Finns. It will be available after I am done with my WW3 project.
So enjoy for now, and report any glitches as always.
Thanks,
-Uthum |

nice job, and yes please make it selectable instead. makes using your mod a lot more pleasant without having to muck around with the files all so much. |

It is selectable on the mods menu, but u have to overwrite the soundfiles xml file so that all of the sounds work properly. And thanks for the compliment, that means a lot coming from a man of u're caliber. [Edited on 09/03/05 @ 11:50 PM]

hmmm shouldnt need to overwrite (usually), i know somethings are kooky so...what exactly are u doing that requires it?
by selectable...i mean not mixing the art files up with the originals even if u dont overwrite the originals. it gets a bit messy, and if people have other mods based on this one or same file names and requires the files to be put into the original's art folder then u have a problem. All art files except the unit icon interfaces should be able to exist in their own mod's specific art folder (just need to update the unit_graphics and building_graphics to look at your mod's art folder instead of the default art folder)[Edited on 09/04/05 @ 04:39 AM]

I don't know, without the overwriting of the soundfiles xml file none of the sounds will work. What am I doing wrong? Did I setup the folder all wrong? And I don't think that overwriting the art files is necessary, I only mentioned it because some people said they were getting faulty skins, but others I talked to who didn't overwrite the art files, said that it worked fine. I'll have to check the files specifically to know why the sounds dont work, but usually if u make new units and change inheritance. It may loose the sounds linkages, so what I usually did was specifically make sure that the graph attribute reference is listed in the sound xml file.
As for the art files things not working, I get that complaint sometimes, But its usually because people didnt install the mod in the right place, or named the folder wrong (compared to where u have set it in the unit graphics xml file). |

It was a Balancing issue. I don't think the Polish cavalry would stand a chance against a tiger, let alone a King tiger. Besides its 1943, Poland had already capitulated 4 years earlier. But I am working on the Finns and the Aussies, maybe I will also do the Romanians and the Hungarians. |
