In 1914, the German and Russian armies met at Tannenberg, there were three stages to the battle and this scenario focuses on the second, the main battle, where the Germans encircled and attacked the Russians. Historically, due to some intercepted messages, some questionable decscisons by the Russians and some brilliant generalship by the german commander von Hindenburg, the Russians were defeated. Can you do better? For mother Russian and for the Czar!!
Playability: 5
Very easy to play. Starting positions laid out well.
Balance: 4
Good balance. I thought I'd cleaned them out, but there were more waiting for me.
Creativity: 4
Much better in all aspects from your prior submissions.
Map Design: 3
Nice trenchlines. You and Marce and these trenchlines help add to the realism.
Story/Instructions: 4
Pretty well laid out for the player. Maybe a little more storyline would be good.
Additional Comments:
This is a big jump from your earlier submissions. Keep working.
One note: The left and right flank messages were backwards. Since your army is facing toward you the directions are the opposite of what they should be.

Playability: 4
(Very easy to play no complaints here.)
Balance: 5
(This was the best part of the scenario, it's so hard to get it right with the contraints of trench warfare)
Creativity: 3
(I dinged you here. One you have the talent to re-create this battle accurately. Maybe you will now do a Version 2 from the German perspective. This was a classic battle on the Eastern Front with some internal political strife amongst military leadership.)
Map Design: 5
(Just Great. Your trench variety I liked very much.)
Story/Instructions: 4
(You laid it out well, I didn't get the "press forward" for reinforcements? I didn't think I should ding you again, because you said you took liberties to make it a fictional re-enactment. Remember the flanks relative to the Map is pain.)
Additional Comments: The Cavalry spawn using Don Cossack to overide the Industrial age was creative to get the Horse Cavalry, KUDOS.

there have been two battles of tannenberg, one in 1914 and one in 1410, between the teutonic knights and the polish-lituanians, mabye you are thinking of this, don't think it is anything to do with charlamagne thought wasnt he kinda 600s?
