So what's everyone's favorite (not necessarily best) nation to play?
I always find America fun, but of all things, I must say that the Inca are my favorite to play with.

The best for me would have to be the germans. Their bonuses make it much easier to max out resource collection.

French, because of supply wagons. I'm lazy to garrison my wounded units all the time, and frees up a lot of time for other actions. It also enables me to go despotism-monarchy-socialism without hesitating (I find their bonuses better in the long run, also better patriots aside from healing).
Versailles is too late and can be destroyed, or can be built by someone else before me.
Other bonuses are good as well, but the healing wagons are the reason they are my favourite.

British, because of their high commerce cap, free infantry and boats and naval dominance.

Id have to disagree...German UU's are garbage. Civs with GOOD UU's would be the russians, the romans and the like. Units that are actually unique and not just slightly improved versions of the standard units.

Wealth is obsolete after 3 civ's.
My choice would be either the Russians,Germans, Dutch, or Iroquois.
The Iroquois can be one of the best nations in the game if played correctly.
One nation that I hate being is the Lakota.

Not neccesarily so eman. The Inca improved wealth rates help immensely when your trading ESPECIALLY when you need to buy oil in the Industrial Age. The Incas get a bonus for the resource that can buy every other resource in the game, including knowledge because scholars cost wealth. Wealth is arguably the most important resource in the game, and so its a great advantage to have bonus for it. The Incas are a fairly popular choice online for a good reason.

I've found the Greeks to be good, but I like the Dutch the best so far.
In some of the Middle ages the dutch can have naval dominance with their gigantic ships, and their commerce interest can be exploited to give you 10k of each resource in the Medieval age.

I've found that once your interest really picks up, you can get rid of your citizens.
I was in the Modern Age with 70 citizens and I just deleted them all, freeing up 70 population for soldiers. (With the colossus, I was helped immensely.)
What I should have done was made them all partisans and used them in some sort of combat.

Once I max out all my research and do not need knowledge, I eject all my scholars, and put them into my military. I usually like to keep a few citizens just in case the game is prolonged, but I am truly confident that I can defeat my enemy with a huge blitzkrieg, I'll put them all into my army.
By the way, can someone who has time go through the topics in both of the RoN Strategy boards and create some sort of strategy manual. I would like to make a RoN Heaven Manual that incorporates everyone's ideas, not only for strategy, but also for scenario creation, modding, and other aspects.

I could write strategy for battle and economy using all ideas discussed, but I don't know anything about modding or scenario editing.
Would you want links or for me to copy/paste other's articles into this one?

I would be up for it, but my time is at a premium at the present... I'll have a bit more time later on though, so if the job isn't taken by then, I'll be up for it! We'll also need to work on getting more traffic on these forums. Rise of Nations still has quite a following, so that shouldn't be too hard to do if we try!

Fantastic! Simon might be able to write the modding section, and I can write the scenario design section.
