This is the first 'released' version of my RPG mod, Rise of Heroes. In this file, you will also find the Rise of Heroes mod (v1.0) which is needed for this scenario.
Rise of Heroes allows you to choose your hero from 4 different character classes. These classes are:
The Warrior (high attack and hp as well as an improved healing rate, but low armor and slow movement)
The Archer (fast movement and ranged attack, but only moderate attack, and very low hp and armor)
The Knight (a good balance of all stats)
The Cleric (high armor and best healing rate, as well as a radius of healing, which improves the healing rate of allies nearby, but moderately low hp and attack)
Also in Rise of Heroes, you can buy things such as potions or equipment upgrades with your starting money or money gained from defeating enemies. To pay for these things, you must be near the building and press 'Alt-4' and offer a certain amount of wealth. Then, check the 'propose peace' box. The transaction will go through provided you have enough money.
Currently available locations:
The Temple allows you to purchase potions. Each potion heals 30% of your health and they are used automatically if you are at 25% or lower health.
Your House in Raelstonn improves your healing rate if you stand next to it. Each hero gets their own house.
The Inn allows you to rent rooms to fully heal. There's an Inn at every town, and to rent a room costs 10 gold.
The Training Academy allows you to purchase exp. Each experience point costs 15 gold.
The Weaponsmith allows you to purchase weapon upgrades, and the Armorsmith allows you to purchase armor upgrades. Higher level upgrades require the hero to be of a certain level. Also, not every weapon and armorsmith will be able to upgrade your equipment to their highest level. You'll have to look for more skilled craftsmen for that.
In Rise of Heroes v0.1, there are only two quests available. Both take place in and around Raelstonn. The end of the 2nd quest occurs when you talk to Cpl. Tarreniel, therefore, that's the end of v0.1.
Please let me know if you encounter any problems what so ever with this scenario. I hope you enjoy the first part of Rise of Heroes!
EDIT: Updated to version 0.11. Here are some of the changes:
- Minor tweaks to the 2nd quest.
- Major changes to the code for Hurgal. He now follows the first person that talked to him. He also gains levels, albiet slower than the party does.
- Added roads. (thanks go to Snow Crash for those) |

Did you use the mod when running it in Quick Battle? The scenario needs the mod. |

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Scenario? I'm working on adding additional quests, and while I do so, I'd love to hear suggestions and/or complaints. Any way I can make this better, and I'll try to implement/fix it. |

Just choose to extract the zip file into your main RoN folder. All of the paths are set up correctly, so they will automatically install into the right folders. |

Very good, but when i get farther in the game: found temple, killed naamlimn, got hurgal with me and i meet the general (i didn't charged the raider's camp yet and i didn't check out some city's, i go straight to the Lancaster Castle, but the city seems to be dead: no reactions if i step to buildings, if i get to the Lancaster Castle, what do i have to do first????
Plz make more quests (like one of the 'Lancaster War Corps' or something like that... |
