Needs T&P?: |
Yes |
This mod is a CTW Map built up on
th Baronyx Extended World Map &
Don_The_Dime's Global Conquest
Map. I worked my way around the
bugs in the DTD Global Conquest
and edited all the game's nations
to reflect as best I could today's
heavyweighters. You gotta have
T&P however to play this.
I went through the XML file and
put in the proper ownership for
all the territories and scoured
the CIA world factbook to get the
correct leader names. I think
you'll really enjoy this, I know
I have.
The "scenario" is set entirely in
the Information Age and spans 36
months (turns). Your goal is to
conquer as much of the planet as
possible before your reign is up.
The nations I included are
The American Powers:
USA (Americans), Mexico (Aztecs), Venezuela (Mongols), Brazil (Iroquois), Argentina (Spanish)
The European Powers:
UK (British), France (French), Germany (Germans), Italy (Romans), Russia (Russians)
The African Powers:
Egypt (Turks), Ethiopia (Nubians), Nigeria (Egyptians), South Africa (Bantu)
The Near East Powers:
Israel (Lakota), Iran (Persians), Pakistan (Maya), India (Indians)
The Asian Powers:
China (Chinese), North Korea (Koreans)
South Korea (Greeks), Japan (Japanese)
The Oceanic Powers:
Indonesia (Inca), Australia (Dutch)
I worked really hard on getting
the territories and leadership right
I hope u all enjoy it

the directions are in the file in text format. But for the most part just copy the files into the appropriate folders. Just read the instructions and it should work out okay. Hope u enjoy it. |

Very nice :-) I did make some modifications last night though to suit my personal tastes:
1) I made it so you don't have to replace your original tribes.
2) I changed Australia to "British Commonwealth" and added all the British Commonwealth territories to it.
3) I changed Russia to "Commonwealth of Independent States" and added the applicable states, moving the capital to Belarus. (The CIS is headquartered in Minsk, Belarus)
4) I looked up the top five military powers and the top five economic powers and made only those 9 nations playable (United States, United Kingdom, China, North Korea, Japan, CIS, Germany, France, and India. There are only 9 because the US is on both lists.)
5) I added a whole bunch of alliances and vassals.
6) France, the United Kingdom, and the United States all get the overseas territories they govern directly.
7) I made South Korea, South Africa (even though it is Commonwealth), and Israel all vassals of the United States.
8) The United States and the United Kingdom start off allied to each other, Germany and France start allied, North Korea and China start allied, as well as a few other settings.
All this I just did to make the map look more "full".[Edited on 06/26/05 @ 09:12 PM]

Step 1: Find the CTW initialization script.
If you look at DonTheDime_Global_Conquest_Map_01.xml under ROOT you should see initialization_script_file="./conquest/ExtendedWorld/exworld_init.bhs". This is the path to the initialization script.
Step 2: Edit the script.
You can do this in notepad, but I recommend using the ingame editor. Beneath "int scenario init_script ()
{" add your alliance, vassal/client, war, peace info. These are set with the following functions:
ctw_set_ally(string tribe1, string tribe2);
ctw_set_vassal(string tribe1, string tribe2);
ctw_set_peace(string tribe1, string tribe2);
ctw_set_war(string tribe1, string tribe2);
For example, to have the United States and the United Kingdom allied to each other, say:
ctw_set_ally("Americans", "British");
You use "Americans" and "British" because those are nations you have replaced.
Some things to note:
-Always set vassals after you set allies and enemies, because saying two countries should be allied AFTER making one of them a vassal will make the vassal a full nation again.
-in ctw_set_vassal(); tribe1 is the master and tribe2 is the vassal. |
